Join Girish and his eclectic band on Sunday for an ecstatic event that features songs, hymns, and chants from Girish's CDs, "Girish Remixed" and "Diamonds in the Sun", along with some old favorites.

Girish sings traditional Sanskrit mantras with a modern, funky, yet deeply devotional twist. Accompanied by his amazing band, Girish invites his audience at his concert to participate by singing along, call and response chanting, and dancing.

"Possessing a deeply soothing, almost sensual voice Girish sings Sanskrit with palpable devotion and tenderness" ~ Jeremy Lehrer, Yoga Journal

"Now with "Diamonds in the Sun" Girish has found the perfect blend of musical styles, pure inspiration, tender ballads, and that awesome combining of chant form and English lyrics." ~ Lloyd Barde, Common Ground Magazine

Girish is a singer, songwriter, session tabla player, and producer whose life journey has been marked by a series of profound transformations. He has gone from aspiring jazz drummer to renunciant Hindu monk to first call tabla guru for the likes of Krishna Das to solo mantra troubadour, and he's not done yet.

Girish lived in an ashram for five years taking the vows of a monk in the divine mother tradition called Dakshina Marg or Mahashakti Yoga. Another compelling sound force emerged for Girish: the chanting of Sanskrit mantras. As a monk in the ashram he spent hours every day chanting. Girish also studied Sanskrit as a means to understand the deeper meanings of these ancient chants, and helped his teacher translate dozens of hymns.

Before embarking on his own journey as a solo singer, Girish preformed with some of the most celebrated kirtan artists including Snatam Kaur, Krishna Das, Rasa, Dave Stringer, Wah, and Donna DeLory, and has been instrumental in the growing popularity of chant and kirtan music in the United States. According to Pure Music's Frank Goodman, kirtan, like the unpredictable rise and rejuvenation of the many forms of yoga in recent years, is everywhere now and there is a growing number of people flocking to the kirtan scene.

Girish is currently on tour to support Remixed (Mondolaya, December 2011) and Yoga Music Union (Mondolaya, September 2011). His widely acclaimed Diamonds in the Sun (Mondolaya, April 2010), Yoga Vision (Mondolaya, January 2008), Shiva Machine (Spirit Voyage, October 2005) and Reveal (Mondolaya, May 2004) cds, dvds, and tours popularized his original music in yoga studios, churches, and music festivals all over the world.

Consciousness News

Declassified: CIA Explains Consciousness, the Matrix, How World is a Hologram, Telepathy | The Impious Digest

Introduction. In order to describe the Monroe Institute technique for achieving altered states of consciousness(the "Gateway Experience") involving brain hemisphere synchronization or "Hemi-Sync", the most effective way to begin is to briefly profile the basic mechanics which underlay operation of related methods such as hypnosis, transcendental meditation, and biofeedback. It is easiest to effectively describe what Gateway is by beginning with a short description of those associated techniques that share some common aspects with the Gateway Experience but which are nevertheless different. In this way we can develop a frame of reference at the outset which will provide useful concepts to explain and understand Gateway by comparison, as we proceed.

John Lennon's "Imagine" Was Turned Into a Comic Strip, and the Result is Incredibly Beautiful. | The Unbounded Spirit

What would the world be like if everyone decided to let go of competition and start collaborating with one another so as to live in harmony and peace? I know, that’s a quite difficult thing to imagine, considering the crazy world we currently live in, with violence making its presence almost everywhere. But illustrator Pablo Stanley gave it a good try, and below you’ll have the opportunity to see one of his most well-known comic strips (and, personally, my favorite one), based on John Lennon’s popular song “Imagine.”

7 billion conscious human beings would create a very different world | Energy Therapy

People are worried that with an ever increasing population we won’t have enough land to live on… that we won’t have enough food, or clean, drinkable water in the very near future… Yet, this is truly a matter of consciousness! 7 billion conscious, awake human beings would create a VERY different world to the state of our world today.
